I figured it was time to set a few things out clearly about a few various things. As you’re probably aware we just pushed the next updates for both the VMware images of Lion and Mountain Lion. They’re currently on our servers for fast distribution via torrent and they’ll be added to direct downloads soon.
This brings me onto my next point. This month our web hosting and server hosting is up for renewal. Due to the amount of web hosting and server space we currently use, we’d appreciate it if people could chip in to assist us in affording the costs. As you know it costs a fair bit to keep the site up and running, especially with the dedicated torrent servers and so on. In addition, we don’t all have the funds to front for it as a couple of us (myself included here) are University students and so don’t really have a set income. We’d ideally be looking for at least $250 to cover domain extensions/hosting extension and so on, but anything further would be extremely appreciated as we could put it to use with adding server space and increasing speeds, since we’d have to start removing builds occasionally due to their size. Without this, our funds are going to be pushed and I’m sorry to say that if we can’t afford to pay all the costs there will be no more images as currently development takes place at the expense of an actual job.
Everything is of course appreciated, and we feel that due to the work we put into these builds we’re not asking for much. An example is the iMessage fix which took a week of figuring out and a lot of frustration, purely to keep a few people happy. Although the fix looks fairly simple, keeping things in check with the EFI build was difficult. But yes, anything that you feel you can contribute, then we’d welcome the assistance. You can contribute via the ChipIn widget below, or donate via the sidebar.

Somewhat funny that you expect people to run a .exe
why not just zip it up? Too straight forward?
Zip it creates a file about 7GB. And people are suspicious of opening .zip files too. It’s compressed as far as possible and to avoid constant questions like “I’m trying to extract it and it won’t work, what do I do?” it’s an SFX archive. If you don’t like it, don’t use it. Nobody is forcing you to.
If you don’t like the EXE install 7-zip, right-click on exe and extract. DONE
donated the little that i had on my paypal. will do a bit more as soon as i get my disability pension cheque deposited and the transfer to paypal clears. thanks.
If help is still needed I can gladly offer space/bandwidth on my server, if you’d have use for a mirror for files. Hit me up directly if you’re interested.
